KHILIM

Design: Altherr Désile Park

Inspired in Amini’s ambitious sustainability program - and it’s owners passion for bees, honey and gardening - with Khilim, we explored the concepts of sustainable textiles and joy.

One of the most harmful aspects of textiles - including carpets -  is the bleaching and dying process that contaminates a lot of water.
Wool is not only a 100% sustainable fiber, sheep hair actually grows in many natural colors from white to beige, brown, grey and black - which is not only beautiful, but also naturally color stable.

To reduce dying and bleaching to a minimum, we decided to use a mixture of various tones of 100 % natural wool - undyed and unbleached - in a geometric texture.

The Panja weave comes with a simple appearance but requires, in fact, great manual ability in the creation, starting from the meticulous use of colours
to the correct execution of the weave.
